Pong Wu, Senior Transportation Planner

Pong has more than 20 years of experience in public agencies and private engineering consulting firms in transportation planning, modeling, traffic simulation and GIS analysis.  He received his Master’s Degree of Urban/Regional Planning focusing on Traffic and Transportation from the Kansas University (KU) Urban and Regional Planning program.

His areas of specialty are: travel demand forecasting for long-range and short-range plans; traffic impact, corridor congestion simulation modeling and LOS analysis, roadway safety and crash data analysis, traffic data collection and traffic volume forecasting, land use and socioeconomic trends analysis, air quality and emission analysis for environment conformity and CMAQ funding application with EPA’s Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator (MOVES), etc.

Before joining CRPC, he was invited by The Kansas University Transportation Center (KUTC) as a visiting scholar for highway design, construction and finance related research.  After graduating, Pong worked with HDR Engineering, Inc. as a traffic/transportation planner, and following HDR Engineering, Inc., he joined the Metropolitan Planning Organizations in Oklahoma and Ohio.  In March 2014, Wu joined with CRPC as a senior transportation planner and is a team leader for GIS/Modeling & data service.
